Kata course and competition - 28th October

There will be a kata course and competition at Bitterne Leisure Centre on Sunday 28th October at 10.20am. Please see Sensei Fanner for details and payment.

Date of next grading

Here's a reminder that the next Kyu grading will take place on 4th November 2004 at Bitterne Leisure Centre starting at 2.45 pm. Please make sure that, if you are eligible to grade, you fill in a grading form and give the grading fee to Sensei Fanner in good time before the grading.

Next Committee Meeting - 25th September

The next committee meeting is on September 25th after the lesson, so can all members of the committee please attend and if so write down any ideas or questions prior to the meeting.
If any member has any questions then please put this in writing and give to either Neville Palmer, Club Secretary or to Sensei Fanner by the 18th September.

Kyusho Jitsu Course (Senior brown/black belts only) - Saturday 10th Oct. 2004

There will be a course at Bitterne Leisure Centre 10th October 10.00am to 1.00pm. The cost will be £20, which will include an attendance certificate. Please obtain a form from Sensei fanner and submit this along with payment as soon as possible.

Kata Course and Bunkai (techniques from kata) - Saturday 17th Oct. 2004

There will be a kata and bonkai course for all grades on Saturday 17th October. The course will cover kata and bonkai (kumite techniques from the kata). Please obtain a form from Sensei fanner and submit this along with payment as soon as possible. The times and costs are as follows:

All grades: 10.00 am to 12.00 pm
Brown/black belts only 12.30pm to 2.30pm

Cost: Adult £18 both sessions, or £10 one session
Juniors: £15 both sessions, or £6 one session
(This includes a course attendance certificate)

Congratulations to our star juniors Luke and Joshua Betteridge who successfully achieved their Shodan black belt grades at the recent black belt grading in Winchester.

Karate-ka joins the RAF

Michael Hair, who recently attained his 1st Dan black belt, has left us to join the Royal Air Force. Members of Chinte School of Shotokan presented him with a pair of Tonfa and case to congratulate him. We wish him all the best for the future and good luck in basic training!
