Instructors and Personalities of Our Organisation

Sensei Ken Fanner,
3rd Dan

Sensei Ken Fanner has 20 years of experience and training in various martial arts. He started training under Sensei Glen Hall in 1981 in Shotokan Karate. He has also trained under such JKA instructors as Kawazoe Sensei and Yahara Sensei (Shotokan). He later trained under Ged Moran, and Stuart Cole of the SSKA. He has also trained in other disciplines with such great martial artists as Phil Norman, (the late, great) Colin Sheridan, Rick Young of the British Jeet Kune Do movement. Sensei Fanner has also attended various courses run by Dan Inosanto (JKD), Bob Breen (JKD).

Sensei Fanner has built up a great wealth of knowledge in martial arts what he calls "real deal fighting" through his experiences working on the doors of the top night club on the south coast, the Opera House. This he passes on to his students in workshops every month along side the traditional Shotokan training. He still stresses that traditional arts, such as Shotokan karate-do, are the best foundation anyone could have.

Sensei Ken Fanner is also a fully qualified fitness instructor, as well as in first Aid. He is currently insuring that all grades above brown belt (3rd Kyu) are trained in modern aspects of training along with the traditional ways and values.
